Frequently Asked Questions

ABOUT THE STUDIO

  • We offer wedding photography and cinematic wedding videography throughout New Jersey and destination locations. Our services include full-day wedding coverage, engagement sessions, cinematic highlight films, documentary wedding films, photo booths, and handcrafted Italian albums. Most couples book combined photo and cinema packages for complete wedding day coverage.

  • Brian Delia Photography has been photographing and filming weddings in New Jersey since 2009. Over the past 15+ years, our team has captured thousands of weddings across Northern New Jersey, Central New Jersey, and the Jersey Shore, earning multiple industry awards and Hall of Fame recognition from The Knot.

  • We are a husband and wife wedding photography and cinema team based in Verona, NJ. Unlike single-shooter studios, we operate with a structured team model, ensuring consistent quality, backup coverage, and seamless coordination between photography and videography. Our style blends modern documentary storytelling with timeless portraits — capturing real moments without forced or corny posing.

  • Brian Delia Photography operates as a boutique studio, taking on a maximum of three weddings per day to ensure every couple receives dedicated, personalized attention. Brian leads the cinema and videography side of each wedding, while Gabrielle oversees photography. We do a photography style consultation to match you with the photographer on our team whose work best aligns with your vision. Your photographer then does a complimentary engagement session with you before the wedding — so by the time your wedding day arrives, you already have a relationship, you're comfortable in front of the camera, and there are zero awkward introductions.

  • While we are based in Verona, NJ and primarily serve Northern New Jersey, Central New Jersey, and the Jersey Shore, we do occasionally take on destination weddings. Reach out and we'll put together a custom quote based on your location and date.

STYLE & APPROACH

  • We specialize in modern documentary-style wedding photography blended with timeless editorial portraits. Our goal is to capture organic, unscripted emotions — the laugh before the first kiss, a grandmother dabbing her eyes during the ceremony, the chaos and joy of the dance floor. We also carve out time for a short portrait session during golden hour so you have stunning, timeless images of just the two of you.

  • It's a blend of both. About 90% of our work is documentary — we observe, anticipate, and capture moments as they unfold. For portraits, we use gentle, natural direction (not stiff posing) to help you look your best while still feeling like yourselves. Most couples tell us they forgot we were there, which is exactly the goal.

  • Absolutely — and we encourage it. Seeing a full gallery from a single wedding tells you far more about a photographer than a curated portfolio of best shots. We're happy to share complete galleries during your consultation so you can see consistency, coverage, and storytelling from start to finish.

  • Yes. We offer film photography as an add-on for couples who love the warm, timeless aesthetic of 35mm film. It pairs beautifully with our digital coverage and is a popular choice for detail shots, portraits, and candid moments throughout the day.

BOOKING & LOGISTICS

  • Wedding photography collections begin around $3,000, with most couples investing between $4,500 and $8,000 depending on hours of coverage, albums, and cinema options. We offer customized packages for New Jersey weddings and destination events. Visit our Pricing page or contact us directly for a personalized quote.

  • We recommend reaching out 12–18 months before your wedding date, especially for peak NJ wedding season (May through October) and popular Saturday dates. That said, we do occasionally have openings for shorter lead times — it's always worth asking.

  • Yes. A signed contract and a retainer are required to officially reserve your wedding date. Dates are not held without both in place.

  • In the unlikely event of a true emergency, we have a trusted network of professional photographers and videographers we have worked with for years who can step in. This is one of the key advantages of working with an established studio team rather than a solo freelancer. Your wedding day will always be covered.

  • Yes, and we highly recommend them. As part of our process, your matched photographer does a complimentary engagement session with you before the wedding day — so you're already comfortable with each other when it counts. Engagement photos also make beautiful save-the-dates and wall prints.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

  • Most full-day wedding clients receive between 600 and 1,000+ fully edited photos, depending on the length of coverage and the events of the day. Every image is professionally edited for color, light, and tone — you will never receive a batch of raw, unedited files.

  • Edited wedding galleries are typically delivered within 2-5 weeks of your wedding date. If you'd like to discuss a rush turnaround, ask us about our expedited delivery option.

  • Your photos are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share full-resolution images from any device. Your cinematic wedding film is delivered via a private video link.

  • Yes. We shoot with dual memory card slots in our cameras, meaning every image is written to two cards simultaneously on your wedding day. Files are then backed up to multiple hard drives and cloud storage. We take data security very seriously.

  • Low-light reception coverage is one of our specialties. We use professional lighting equipment — including off-camera flash and continuous LED lighting — that blends naturally with the atmosphere of your venue without being harsh or disruptive. You won't end up with flat, washed-out dance floor photos.

  • Rain makes for some of the most dramatic and memorable wedding photos — truly. We come prepared with umbrellas, plan creative indoor alternatives, and have photographed beautiful portraits in the rain at venues across New Jersey. A little weather never stops us, and it often results in images couples treasure most.

CINEMA & VIDEO

  • We offer cinematic highlight films (typically 5–8 minutes), full documentary-length wedding films, and ceremony-only coverage. Our cinema team uses cinema-grade cameras, drone footage (where permitted), and professional audio to create films that feel like a movie of your wedding day — not a shaky camcorder recording.

  • We strongly recommend it. When your photo and cinema teams are from the same studio, they communicate seamlessly, share timelines, stay out of each other's shots, and work toward the same creative vision. It also simplifies your vendor coordination significantly.
