Anjelica & Jay - April 14, 2017

Everyone loves a "will they or won't they" love story, rife with excitement and enticing journey that inevitably leads to a happily ever after. It was clear from the very beginning that Anjelica and Jay couldn't stay away from each other- An arrangement that was meant to be. Their wedding day began slowly, but emotions grew intense once they read each other's heartfelt letters. (Getting the tears out of the way is the best way to go during your wedding and these two handled it like pros!) Afterwards, the ceremony proved to be a joyous display of their love for each other. The reception was the crescendo of the entire day, ending with music bumping, drums, dancing, laughter, all surrounded by friends and family.

Venue & Vendors:

Q: How did you two meet?
A: The first time we saw each other was in 2001 at Clifton Commons. I knew one of the girls Angie was with so I asked her about Angie. Then we began to talk through AIM (AOL Instant Messenger).

Q: How long have you been together?
A: On and off, we've been together since 2005. We were together straight from 2007-2011 then broke up for a few years, followed by reconnecting in December of 2013. We've been together ever since.

Q: What is your engagement story?
A: Angie planned a dinner for my 29th birthday at Orama Steakhouse in Edgewater, NJ. There were about 25 of our closest friends attending the dinner, for what she thought was going to be a night to celebrate my birthday. Behind the scenes I organized having our parents and the rest of our family wait downstairs in the bar area. I planned to have them jump out and surprise her after I proposed! So shortly after dinner, my niece presented me with a gift that was a stuffed French bulldog that looks like our dog, Tajh. The stuffed dog had a box hanging from his collar and I proceeded to open that box to propose to her. Then she noticed all the additional people who came out to surprise her. After dinner we took a party bus into Manhattan with everyone and celebrated our engagement.

Q: Was there a theme to your wedding day?
A: I wouldn't say there was much of a theme- We just tried to keep everything classy and traditional.

Q: How will you remember your wedding day from now on?
A: The weather was beautiful- There wasn't a cloud in the sky. The day went so smoothly that we actually couldn't believe it! All of our guests danced the entire night and I don't remember the dance floor ever being empty. It was the best day of our lives so far!
